Job Description
Fire Stopping Surveyor conducting passive fire protection surveys for PTSG, a UK building safety and compliance services provider. Inspecting compartmentation areas, recording findings and supporting safe, compliant occupied properties.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect cavities, loft spaces, below-floor voids, ceilings and boxed-in areas
- Communicate with customers in a friendly manner
- Apply working knowledge of Rockwool, Hilti and Quelfire products
- Use reporting systems including Bolster and One Serve
- Maintain accurate records
- Deliver passive fire protection surveys to a high standard, on time and within budget
- Support other members of the compartmentation team
- Manage multiple tasks, prioritise work and maintain attention to detail
- Help keep people safe in homes and occupied premises
Requirements:
- Surveying experience of private and public sector properties
- Full UK driving licence
- High attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- IT literate, including Microsoft Suite and tablets/PDAs
- Relevant professional qualification, such as Certificate in Applied Fire Risk Assessment, or significant experience in Fire Safety Management
- Evidence of professional and specialist technical skills relating to Fire Safety Management
- Detailed knowledge of current regulations and best practice
- Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation and guidance within the social housing sector
- Knowledge of Approved Document B and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Experience delivering passive fire protection surveys to a high standard, on time and within budget
- Level NVQ2 in Passive Fire Protection (stated as essential)
- Desirable: FIRAS Card Holder at Supervisory or Technician level
- Desirable: IOSH Managing Safely
- Desirable: PASMA
- Desirable: Emergency First Aid
- Desirable: Asbestos Awareness
