Job Description
French Linguistic Expert evaluating and improving French LLM-generated content for Mercor’s AI research projects. Annotating linguistic data and providing feedback to train advanced AI systems.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the quality and accuracy of LLM-generated French text across translation, summarization, dialogue, and grammar-correction use cases
- Edit, refine, or rewrite French content to meet linguistic and cultural standards
- Annotate French text for grammatical, syntactic, and semantic features
- Identify model errors and language gaps
- Collaborate with AI researchers to improve LLM performance
- Provide detailed linguistic feedback and analysis to guide model training efforts
Requirements:
- Native or near-native fluency in French, with excellent command of grammar, syntax, and stylistics
- Professional experience in translation, editing, linguistic annotation, or French NLP data work
- Strong understanding of linguistic nuances, regional variations, and context-appropriate usage
- Interest in AI and LLM-driven language technologies preferred but not required
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify subtle errors or unnatural phrasing
- Clear communication skills and experience working in distributed, remote teams
- Must be an independent contractor
- H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported
