Job Description
Music production expert evaluating AI-generated songs, lyrics, and vocals for Mercor’s AI lab partnerships. Rating musical quality across genres in French and English.
Responsibilities:
- Compare AI-generated songs head-to-head on musicality, creativity, prompt adherence, vocal quality, and production/mix quality
- Label songs by genre, structure, instruments, vocals, and other musical characteristics
- Review AI-generated lyrics and vocals against reference material for quality and accuracy
- Work in French and English to evaluate generative music AI models
- Complete the Bilingual Competency Interview in French and application onboarding steps
Requirements:
- Native or near-native proficiency in French
- Ability to follow detailed written instructions in English
- 2+ years of experience as a music producer, audio engineer, or mixing engineer
- Headphones or studio monitors suitable for critical listening
- Formal training in music performance, theory, or composition (nice to have)
- Credited or commercially released production, engineering, or mixing work (nice to have)
- Broad familiarity with contemporary French genres, sub-genres, and artists (nice to have)
- Independent contractor status
- Unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates at this time
