Job Description
Field Property General Adjuster handling complex commercial and homeowners claims for SageSure, a catastrophe-exposed property insurance company. Traveling to loss sites, assessing damage, and managing claims from investigation through closure.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, oversee, scope, and estimate large and complex commercial claims and large homeowners claims
- Investigate and evaluate coverage and damage issues, communicating findings to customers
- Manage and oversee Business Personal Property loss, Business Income Loss, Homeowners Content loss, and Homeowners Loss of use/Loss of rent claims
- Manage Personal Lines files from initiation to closure, including comprehensive coverage analysis and evaluation of loss exposures across Coverages A, B, C, and D
- Handle commercial losses, including building damage claims with potential loss exposures exceeding $2 million
- Handle complex Business Personal Property losses and assist with documenting business inventories
- Analyze business interruption claims using business reports, accounting documents, and payroll reports with accounting-resource support
- Partner with business owners, CEOs, and executives while investigating claims and applying Commercial BOP and CPP policy knowledge
- Partner with contractors, public adjusters, attorneys, and internal business partners
- Identify suspicious losses, recommend SIU review, and assist with investigations
- Handle claims in compliance with applicable regulations and internal processes
- Support catastrophe response, including potential overtime and deployment
- Coach, mentor, and engage with colleagues to drive change
Requirements:
- 5+ years of field property claims experience
- Claims Connect/Symbility estimating experience, including personal lines and commercial line large loss estimation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities
- Empathetic interpersonal skills
- Adjuster licensed in home state or holds a non-resident license if license not required; meets requirements for licensing in additional states as needed
- Ability to travel to loss locations on short notice and spend the necessary time on site to scope and document damages, work with insureds on the claim process and manage all aspects of the claim file
- Ability to perform detailed field inspections on large commercial properties and large homes in a timely fashion
- Ability to utilize necessary equipment to perform inspections, including climbing ladders to inspect all phases of large structures
- Commercial/large/complex loss estimating and claims handling experience, highly preferred
- Experience in catastrophe-focused environments, highly preferred
- Professional designations, highly preferred
