Job Description
Graphic Designer III leading branding, print, digital, and motion design for Johns Hopkins public health communications. Developing visual solutions and directing creative production across strategic projects.
Responsibilities:
- Develop visual communication solutions for strategic projects
- Lead creative design, creative concepts, and production for project execution
- Work independently and in cross-functional groups on strategic communications projects
- Lead cross-functional design teams and ensure high-quality, consistent print and digital work
- Create logos, signage, annual reports, advertisements, publications, branded collateral, social media graphics, event promotions, images, and motion graphics
- Direct photo shoots and illustration assignments
- Partner with editors, writers, web and video professionals, and other stakeholders on holistic creative solutions
- Serve as a brand ambassador and educate colleagues on creative and brand tools and assets
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines and schedules
- Contribute to creative concept presentations for leadership and other audiences
- Ensure balance of form and function in all materials
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts or related field
- Four years of related experience
- Portfolio
- Additional education may substitute for required experience
- Additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, subject to the JHU equivalency formula
- Proficiency with a Mac using Adobe Creative Suite and emerging technologies
- Website design experience
- DSLR photography experience
- Proficiency in Project Management Software (Smartsheet)
- Video production knowledge including After Effects and Adobe Premiere technical skills
- Intermediate animation skills
- Intermediate branding skills
- Advanced concept art skills
- Intermediate creative tool proficiency
- Intermediate editing skills
- Advanced graphic design skills
- Intermediate needs assessment skills
