Job Description

Head of Bids leading competitive tenders for Masabi’s global public transport fare-payment platforms. Owning pricing, governance, resourcing and bid-team development.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead each bid from qualification through submission and award, partnering with Business Development and maintaining quality and deadlines
  • Own pricing and commercial strategy for each bid, balancing winning potential against margin
  • Run governance for opportunity pursuit decisions and each bid stage
  • Share bid risks and recommendations with senior leadership
  • Coordinate Product, Engineering, Services, Legal and Finance contributions into a unified response
  • Build the bids function, including people, processes, content, tooling and AI capabilities
  • Plan resourcing across live bids
  • Support, coach and develop the bids team
  • Build trusted relationships with colleagues and partners so submissions reflect customer needs

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be based in Spain and hold current right to work in Spain; right to work will be verified as part of the recruitment process
  • Experience winning high-value, competitive bids
  • Experience leading a bids or proposals team, including process and governance
  • Ability to build and explain pricing strategy, balancing winning probability and margin
  • Ability to present bid risk to senior leadership and recommend walking away when appropriate
  • Understanding of sales and procurement
  • Ability to manage several bids simultaneously while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly and bring contributors together across teams, time zones and countries
  • Ability to handle disagreement respectfully and bring debate to a decision
  • Experience or curiosity experimenting with AI tools; professional AI experience is not required
  • Enjoys developing people and providing effective feedback
  • Familiarity with public procurement for technology solutions (nice to have)
  • Experience in public transport, mobility, or another regulated, tender-led sector (nice to have)
  • Additional languages (nice to have)
  • Experience introducing or improving bid tooling, content libraries or knowledge management (nice to have)
  • CV must be submitted in English
