Job Description
Head of Bids leading competitive tenders for Masabi’s fare-payment platform serving public transport agencies and operators. Owning pricing, governance, bid operations and team development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead each bid from qualification through submission and award
- Partner closely with Business Development and maintain bid quality and deadlines
- Own pricing and commercial strategy for every bid
- Run governance to guide opportunity pursuit decisions at each stage
- Present bid risks and recommendations to senior leadership
- Coordinate Product, Engineering, Services, Legal and Finance contributions into a unified response
- Build the bids function, including people, processes, content, tooling and AI capabilities
- Plan resourcing across live bids
- Support, coach and develop the bids team
- Build trusted relationships with colleagues and partners so submissions reflect customer needs
Requirements:
- Experience helping win high-value, competitive bids
- Experience leading a bids or proposals team, including the process and governance around it
- Ability to build and explain pricing strategy, balancing winning against margin
- Ability to present bid risk to senior leadership, including recommendations to walk away
- Understanding of sales and procurement
- Ability to manage several bids simultaneously while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines
- Clear communication and ability to bring contributors together across teams, time zones and countries
- Ability to handle disagreement respectfully and bring debates to decisions
- AI is part of how you work; experimentation with AI tools and curiosity about their use expected
- Enjoyment of developing people and providing effective feedback
- Familiarity with public procurement for technology solutions
- Experience in public transport, mobility, or another regulated, tender-led sector
- Additional languages are advantageous given the range of markets
- Experience introducing or improving bid tooling, content libraries or knowledge management
- Applicants must be based in the US and hold a current right to work in the US
