Job Description
Home Care Worker helping Silverchain’s aged clients with household and personal care. Supporting independence, complex care needs, transport, and family carers in Tweed Heads.
Responsibilities:
- Provide home help services including general housekeeping and making beds
- Clean, mop and vacuum floors
- Wash, fold and iron laundry
- Prepare meals and complete grocery shopping
- Assist clients out of bed, with showering and dressing
- Assist clients to take medications
- Support mobility and therapy goals
- Provide complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
- Provide social and emotional support
- Transport clients to lifestyle activities or appointments
- Give family carers breaks or opportunities to do other things
- Work independently, find solutions to everyday problems, and seek manager assistance when needed
- Deliver safe, personal, connected and effective care to aged care clients in their homes
Requirements:
- Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role
- Experience with personal care
- Manual handling experience
- Hoist training
- Medication experience
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence
- Own insured, roadworthy vehicle
- Ability to work independently and solve everyday problems
- Ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families
- Ability to provide excellent service
- Prior to commencement, complete a Statutory Declaration, National Police check, Working Rights check and pre-employment functional assessment
- Cert 3 is not required
