Job Description
Home Care Worker providing Silverchain’s aged-care clients with household assistance, transport, meals, and social support. Helping older Australians remain independent at home.
Responsibilities:
- Provide home help services to aged care clients
- General housekeeping and making beds
- Clean, mop and vacuum floors
- Wash, fold and iron laundry
- Prepare meals and complete grocery shopping
- Provide social support and transport to lifestyle activities
- Help family carers take a break or attend to other activities
- Maintain clients' independence and wellbeing at home
- Ask managers for help when needed
Requirements:
- A valid Australian Driver's Licence
- Own insured, roadworthy vehicle
- Interest in community care or aged care
- 3–6 months previous experience in a similar role
- Ability to work independently and find solutions to everyday problems
- Ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families
- Prior to commencement, completion of a Statutory Declaration, National Police check, Working Rights check and pre-employment functional assessment
