Job Description
Engineer leading tenders for HVDC services across the UK and Ireland. Driving technical negotiations and managing the tendering lifecycle in a key energy transmission role.
Responsibilities:
- Join a growing team shaping the next phase of energy transmission
- Lead the development of high quality, competitive, and profitable tenders
- Own the full tendering lifecycle—from understanding customer requirements to seamless handover to project execution
- Drive technical and commercial negotiations with customers
- Define scope, prepare costings, and work closely with Sales to set margins and pricing
- Identify and evaluate technical, commercial, and contractual risks
- Conduct structured risk reviews with various departments
- Gather technical and commercial inputs from teams
- Evaluate supplier and subcontractor proposals
- Support Sales during customer negotiations
- Analyze won/lost tenders and recommend improvements
- Maintain accurate tender documentation and reporting
- Support development of marketing strategies and account plans
- Build strong relationships with customers
- Promote the HVDC service portfolio and identify new opportunities
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience in sales/tendering within industrial, power systems, transportation, or similar engineering driven sectors
- Track record of leading tenders for complex, international, or high value projects
- Knowledge of HV substations, power conversion, or power supply systems
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of tendering processes
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in cross functional, multinational teams and manage variable workloads
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel for customer meetings
- Fluent English (additional languages an advantage)
