Job Description

Full-Time Instructor of Finance at WGU teaching online courses to adult learners. Supporting student progress and adapting teaching methods to improve outcome in a remote setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Instructors are subject matter experts who teach and support a caseload of students enrolled in their assigned course(s).
  • Instructors offer specialized instruction on topics in their course(s) aligned with best practices, as well as monitor and support student progress in competency development and course completion.
  • They are responsive to learner needs and vary the type, length, method, and intensity of instruction best matched to the learner’s strengths and goals.
  • Using technology, Instructors may interact with students in both group and one-to-one settings.
  • Instructors collaborate with other instructional and program faculty serving the students in their course to ensure continuity and quality of support.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an MBA with graduate-level coursework in Corporate Finance, Financial Management, and Financial Analysis (accredited institution; education verified), at least15 graduate credit hours must be in Finance.
  • 2+ years of experience teaching adult learners in higher education (online/distance teaching experience acceptable).
  • 3+ years of professional Finance industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience providing student support and instruction, including supporting struggling or at-risk learners.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, accessible instruction for adult learners.
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service and a student-obsessed mindset.
  • Must reside in the continental U.S. and work from a dedicated, quiet home office with reliable technology and minimal distractions during scheduled hours.
  • Flexibility to support learners during evenings/weekends and attend occasional meetings/events.
