Job Description
Mid-level Java Engineer building Java microservices for Avenga’s cloud platform helping financial institutions manage credit risk and fraud. Developing full-stack features with AI-assisted tools.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based microservices and cloud-native applications
- Build and enhance product features in a modern full-stack environment
- Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable software solutions
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Use AI-assisted development tools, automation, and CI/CD practices to improve productivity and software delivery
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing and continuous learning
Requirements:
- Strong Java development skills and experience building scalable, high-quality applications
- Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools, particularly Claude and Cursor
- Working knowledge of Node.js or React
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, and cloud-native application design
- Experience with software testing methodologies, test automation, and writing maintainable, reliable code
- Ability to work with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and automated deployment workflows
- Ability to contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and collaborative problem-solving
