Job Description
Go Software Engineer building secure authentication and payment-routing APIs for Stone, a Brazilian financial technology company. Developing high-availability services, Kubernetes deployments, and API Gateway infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance Go APIs and workers for the authentication gateway and financial request-routing infrastructure
- Work on authentication and authorization flows using OAuth2, JWT, certificates, identity providers (IdPs), and SK
- Maintain and enhance API Gateway plugins, ensuring end-to-end resilience and observability
- Ensure high availability, performance, and low latency in high-traffic edge services
- Participate in Kubernetes deployments, observability initiatives, and incident response
- Document implemented changes
- Build and maintain production systems with a focus on performance, scalability, security, availability, reliability, and resilience
- Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical mentoring
Requirements:
- 5+ years of production experience with Go, focusing on mission-critical services
- Strong knowledge of authentication and authorization, including OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, and certificate management
- Strong security mindset, including secrets management, cryptography, and hardening of exposed APIs
- Experience with Kubernetes and deploying containerized applications
- Knowledge of relational databases, including PostgreSQL
- Knowledge of non-relational databases, including MongoDB
- Knowledge of distributed caching, including Redis
- Ability to identify gaps in architecture and development processes and propose solutions
- Ability to conduct code and documentation reviews
- Experience implementing automated tests and applying CI/CD best practices
- Ability to collaborate on architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical mentoring
- Experience with API Gateway architecture; Kong experience is a plus
- Knowledge of public clouds such as AWS (ECS, EKS, RDS, and ElastiCache) is a plus
- Experience with GitOps and Argo CD is a plus
- Knowledge of or interest in financial markets, payment systems, or payment methods is a plus
