Job Description
Major Gifts Officer managing major donor relationships and fundraising strategies for Greater Good Charities. Working collaboratively to align donor interests with the organization's global programs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a robust portfolio of individual major donors and prospects
- Design and execute customized donor engagement strategies
- Meet or exceed annual fundraising goals
- Identify, research, and qualify new major gift prospects annually
- Maintain timely, consistent, and personalized outreach across the full portfolio
- Assist with the organization’s foundation and grant relationships
- Partner with Advancement staff on donor visits, events, and strategic solicitations
- Stay informed of trends in high-net-worth philanthropy and donor behavior
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in individual major gift fundraising
- Proven record of closing five- and six-figure gifts
- Demonstrated track record of managing active cultivation pipelines
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in CRM systems (HubSpot preferred)
- Strong organizational skills
- Comfortable working with executives and high-net-worth individuals
- Experience in animal welfare, environmental, or humanitarian sectors preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 10-20%
