Job Description
Manager leading Legal Architects for Clio, a legal AI platform transforming legal work. Supporting SMB sales through legal credibility, tailored demos, enablement, and AI expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a team of six Legal Architects supporting Clio's SMB sales motion
- Hire, coach, and develop Legal Architects across Mid Market, Government, Velocity, and Strategic segments
- Set team culture, quality standards, and career paths
- Define coverage strategy by sales motion and segment
- Manage team capacity against demand
- Personally lead select strategic accounts, marquee demonstrations, and product launches
- Address difficult legal, ethical, and technical objections
- Scale sales enablement through reusable demonstrations, prompt libraries, playbooks, and practice-area content
- Translate field insights into product direction with Product and Engineering
- Align messaging with Marketing and Enablement
- Coordinate with Enterprise Legal Architects to share learnings across customer segments
- Support forecasting and pipeline reviews
- Track team impact and maintain quality, accuracy, and vetting standards
- Report to the Director of Legal Architecture
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent, with practicing experience
- Experience leading or managing a team, or demonstrated player-coach success
- Customer-facing experience in discovery, live demonstrations, and high-stakes discussions
- Ability to navigate technical, emotional, and ethical objections with senior legal stakeholders
- Knowledge of LLMs and their application to legal drafting, research, and agentic workflows
- Uses AI reflexively in own work
- Exceptional communication and emotional intelligence
- Ability to command a room, coach in the moment, and distill complex ideas into clear narratives
- Comfortable building in ambiguity in a fast-moving, high-growth environment
- Candidates based in the US working remotely will be considered
- Preference for candidates located in, or willing to relocate to, Vancouver or Toronto
- Practicing experience as a lawyer
