Job Description
Legal operations manager building contract, governance, and compliance systems for Maple’s digital asset lending platform. Designing AI-assisted workflows alongside the General Counsel.
Responsibilities:
- Build and operationalise a contract management system, including key terms tracking, renewal calendars, and version control
- Assist with template documents, negotiation playbooks, and standardised workflows for recurring agreement types
- Conduct first-pass reviews of loan documents and commercial agreements
- Coordinate agreement execution through signature
- Implement and maintain document management systems, privilege controls, and data retention policies
- Create a structured legal intake process and service delivery model
- Track legal billing and manage outside counsel invoices against billing guidelines
- Support budget workflows
- Liaise with external counsel, service providers, and external partners
- Support AML/KYC procedures, sanctions screening, and counterparty due diligence
- Assist with regulatory filings and licensing applications
- Track filing deliverables and deadlines
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures across entities
- Conduct regulatory and legal research
- Support board and committee materials, entity filings, corporate records, and signing authority documentation
- Maintain organisational charts, entity registers, and governance calendars across multiple jurisdictions
- Coordinate corporate secretarial and entity management matters
- Help design, test, and refine custom AI-assisted legal workflows alongside the General Counsel
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a paralegal, legal operations professional, or in a comparable legal support role
- Meaningful exposure to contract lifecycle management and legal process design
- Ability to build or significantly improve legal operations systems, including document management, contract workflows, and intake processes
- Comfortable supporting AML/KYC processes, tracking regulatory obligations, and developing training
- Highly organised, efficient, and attentive to detail
- Curious and resourceful problem solver who takes ownership of processes and drives them to completion with minimal supervision
- Enthusiastic about AI tools and willing to participate in building AI-enabled legal workflows
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into clear, practical guidance for non-legal teams
- Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent professional experience
- Applicants must be based in the USA or Canada
