Job Description
Manufacturing Sales Representative growing U.S. revenue for abrasive and super abrasive grinding products. Managing territories, consultative sales, customer visits, quotations, forecasting, and post-sale support.
Responsibilities:
- Prospect, qualify, and develop new B2B accounts across manufacturing and industrial sectors
- Build relationships with decision-makers and influencers
- Use cold calling, networking events, trade shows, and referrals to build a qualified-lead pipeline
- Manage territory plans by geography, industry, and account potential
- Conduct customer-site visits, product demonstrations, and value-based discovery
- Prepare quotes, proposals, and sales agreements; negotiate pricing, terms, and service levels
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships through follow-ups, consultations, and service
- Use CRM daily to maintain pipelines, forecast accurately, and document activities
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Operations, and Customer Service on delivery, inventory, and issue resolution
- Represent the company at trade shows and industry events; monitor competition and market trends
- Provide after-sale support, coordinate training, and drive product adoption
- Maintain expert knowledge of abrasive and super abrasive grinding products and services
- Stay informed about industry developments, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes
- Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals
- Complete other assigned tasks and projects
- Report to the General Manager
Requirements:
- Proven track record of exceeding sales goals in a competitive environment
- Outside sales experience in manufacturing preferred but not required
- Abrasive or super abrasive experience preferred
- Experience selling to manufacturers or distributors preferred
- Territory planning and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet aggressive deadlines, and execute agreed-upon sales metrics
- Demonstrated success meeting quotas with consultative/value-selling techniques and multi-stakeholder buying groups
- Technical aptitude to learn product lines and apply them to customer applications
- Comfort working in plant/production settings
- Ability to influence buying decisions through persuasive written and verbal communication
- Presentation and strategic networking abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint
- Strong pipeline discipline and forecasting accuracy
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel within the territory approximately 50% or more as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2- or 4-year college degree preferred
- Engineering or Technical degree preferred
- Strong sense of urgency and accountability
- Ability to perform prolonged sitting, standing, bending, and walking
- Moderate to heavy hand use, repetitive hand movement, and finger coordination
- Effective speech and hearing for group, one-on-one, and telephone communication
- High concentration, confidentiality, and organization
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
