Job Description

Migration & Modernization Engineer at Blend leading large-scale cloud migration projects for clients. Responsible for technical discovery, migration planning, execution, and post-migration optimization.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end infrastructure and application migration projects to AWS (lift-and-shift, replatforming, re-architecture)
  • Conduct technical discovery and assessment of legacy environments, identifying risks, dependencies, and optimization opportunities
  • Design cloud-native architectures using microservices, containers (EKS), serverless functions (Lambda), and managed databases
  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation
  • Perform AWS Well-Architected Reviews and implement security, performance, and cost recommendations
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, data, and business teams to ensure deliverables align with the client's roadmap
  • Document architectures, technical decisions, runbooks, and rollback plans
  • Serve as a technical reference and mentor for junior and mid-level team members throughout projects

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on cloud and migrations
  • Hands-on experience with AWS: EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFormation, Migration Hub, DMS, and MGN
  • Proficiency in IaC with Terraform and/or CloudFormation
  • Experience with containers and orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of Python and/or Java for development and automation in migration projects
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar)
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional is a plus
  • Experience with AWS MAP (Migration Acceleration Program) is a plus
