Job Description
Migration & Modernization Engineer at Blend leading large-scale cloud migration projects for clients. Responsible for technical discovery, migration planning, execution, and post-migration optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end infrastructure and application migration projects to AWS (lift-and-shift, replatforming, re-architecture)
- Conduct technical discovery and assessment of legacy environments, identifying risks, dependencies, and optimization opportunities
- Design cloud-native architectures using microservices, containers (EKS), serverless functions (Lambda), and managed databases
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation
- Perform AWS Well-Architected Reviews and implement security, performance, and cost recommendations
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, data, and business teams to ensure deliverables align with the client's roadmap
- Document architectures, technical decisions, runbooks, and rollback plans
- Serve as a technical reference and mentor for junior and mid-level team members throughout projects
Requirements:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on cloud and migrations
- Hands-on experience with AWS: EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFormation, Migration Hub, DMS, and MGN
- Proficiency in IaC with Terraform and/or CloudFormation
- Experience with containers and orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of Python and/or Java for development and automation in migration projects
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar)
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional is a plus
- Experience with AWS MAP (Migration Acceleration Program) is a plus
