Job Description

Network Engineer maintaining network infrastructure and monitoring tools for SDG's global products. Collaborating with teams to resolve incidents and optimize network performance while working remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and maintain network infrastructure in both greenfield and brownfield environments, including configuration and support of network devices and services.
  • Set up and maintain network monitoring tools (Zabbix, Grafana, PRTG) and perform continuous monitoring to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Manage and resolve incidents in line with SLA requirements, handle service requests, and collaborate with vendors and service providers.
  • Maintain accurate network inventory and automate routine operational tasks.
  • Troubleshoot network issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to minimize downtime.
  • Provide on-call support, responding promptly to critical incidents and alerts.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, security teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of network components, and work with vendors to evaluate and implement new solutions.

Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco enterprise and data center equipment (Catalyst, Nexus, Firepower).
  • Advanced knowledge of networking technologies, including VXLAN EVPN, BGP, OSPF, STP (MSTP/RSTP), tunneling (GRE, L2TP, IPsec), switching (LACP, vPC), and Cisco Firepower/ASA.
  • Understanding of network services within OS environments such as Linux, Hyper-V, and VMware.
  • Experience with network automation using Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools (Zabbix, Grafana, PRTG, NetBox).
  • Practical experience with network troubleshooting tools (e.g., tcpdump, Wireshark, iPerf, traceroute, nmap) for performance analysis and root cause identification.
  • Solid understanding of network security fundamentals (ACLs, NAT, segmentation, firewall policies, IDS/IPS basics).
  • Ability to create and maintain network documentation, including L2/L3 diagrams.
