Job Description
Network Manager leading enterprise, cloud, security, and observability engineering for GDIT, a U.S. government technology services company. Driving mission-critical network operations, modernization, and team performance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the general Network Engineering team across enterprise routing and switching, cloud networking, network security, visibility, and monitoring/observability
- Own operational delivery, service health, continuous improvement, priorities, work allocation, program milestones, SLAs, and customer expectations
- Coach employees, manage performance, support career development, hiring, and retention
- Evaluate emerging networking, cloud, security, and observability technologies and drive adoption
- Serve as escalation point for complex technical and operational issues
- Coordinate architecture decisions, major incidents, and high-risk changes with senior engineers
- Partner with Program Management, security operations, cloud, infrastructure, and other Service Tower leads
- Manage customer and partner relationships and represent Network Engineering in reviews and forums
- Drive capacity planning, resource forecasting, and technology investments
- Maintain documentation, runbooks, knowledge transfer, monitoring coverage, and operational readiness standards
- Support audit and compliance activities
- Promote automation, infrastructure-as-code, and modern operational practices
Requirements:
- BA/BS or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering and operations
- People leadership or technical management experience overseeing network engineering teams
- Experience in managed services, government, or large enterprise environments
- Strong hands-on and architectural knowledge of Cisco routing and switching
- Experience with enterprise campus, data center, WAN technologies, routing protocols, switching fabrics, and network design
- Practical AWS, Azure, and GCP networking experience, including VPCs/VNets, transit architectures, hybrid connectivity, and cloud-native services
- Working knowledge of next-generation firewalls and SASE platforms, including Palo Alto Networks technologies
- Familiarity with microsegmentation, policy analysis tools, and WAF technologies
- Experience with enterprise network monitoring and observability platforms
- Strong understanding of ITIL/ITSM, change management, and operational governance
- Track record of evaluating and introducing networking, cloud, or observability technologies
- Experience leading complex transitions, migrations, technology refreshes, or multi-domain network transformations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong people leadership and coaching skills
- Ability to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement
- Must possess Cisco certification (CCNP/CCIE) or equivalent routing and switching experience
- Must possess Palo Alto Networks certification (PCNSE/PCSAE or higher) or equivalent platform experience
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret or higher clearance
- US citizenship required
- Louisiana residency required for the remote work model
