Job Description
New Patient Coordinator registering behavioral health patients and verifying insurance for Baptist Health's Jacksonville-based healthcare system. Remote Florida role supporting Behavioral Health.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Behavioral Health Department by accurately registering new patients
- Provide business services for patients and the healthcare system
- Ensure accurate patient registration
- Verify insurance and authorizations
- Collect patient charges and payments
- Operate a multi-line phone system while maintaining telephone protocols
- Assist patients as needed
Requirements:
- 1-2 years Medical Experience
- 1-2 years Customer Service Experience
- 1-2 years Insurance Experience
- High School Diploma
- Intermediate level knowledge of insurance
- Knowledge of medical records
- Experience operating a multi-line telephone system
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to match patient care needs with available services
- Good judgment when triaging patients with acute needs over the phone
