Job Description
Patient access scheduler booking diagnostic, surgical, therapy, and physician appointments for Baptist Health, a South Florida healthcare system. Verifying insurance and registration data in a call-center environment.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule patient appointments for diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, and other procedures/treatments.
- Obtain and verify necessary demographic and insurance information.
- Register patients and enter data into the scheduling system.
- Work in a call center-type environment.
- Meet individual quality metrics.
- Provide professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients of all ages, families, employees, physicians, and community members.
Requirements:
- High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper.
- Complete and pass the Patient Access training course.
- Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Detail oriented, organized, team player, compassionate, excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology desired.
- Experience with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, knowledge of EMR applications, etc.) and accurate typing skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure, including medical necessity compliance guidelines.
- Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole preferred.
- Minimum required experience: less than 1 year.
