Job Description

Performance Engineer designing, executing, and analyzing performance tests for Stride applications. Enabling engineering teams to deliver high-quality products to market rapidly with actionable insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with technical product management, engineering managers, and other key business stakeholders to define key quality and performance metrics
  • Lead a centralized core team that collaborates closely with development and QA engineers
  • Drive continuous improvement in performance testing practices
  • Collaborate with Scrum teams to define and document quantifiable performance and scalability requirements
  • Develop and execute appropriate tests to verify application requirements are met
  • Analyze results of tests and provide meaningful insights including root cause analysis for defects
  • Establish and maintain dashboards to summarize and report key performance metrics
  • Review performance dashboards regularly with Scrum teams and leadership
  • Collaborate with Scrum teams to integrate performance engineering into their practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Operate performance testing environment responsibly
  • Analyze application architecture to identify potential performance gaps

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related field
  • Five (5) years’ proven experience in software engineering or quality assurance roles
  • One (1) year experience in performance engineering
  • Strong engineering delivery and execution track record
  • Strong background in software engineering, especially in performance, devops/automation, and CI/CD
  • Experience with JMeter, Neoload, and other performance testing tools
  • Experience with scripting, execution, analysis of Performance tests
  • Experience with infrastructure performance analysis on AWS
  • Ability to build trusting, meaningful relationships with peers, stakeholders, and partners
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel 5% of the time
