Job Description
Principal Cloud Engineer designing, automating, and operating secure multi-tenant cloud platforms for GDIT, a U.S. government technology services company. Supporting AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI mission environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design, architect, deploy, and maintain cloud solutions
- Maintain system integrity and security
- Maintain documentation
- Support and develop automation
- Develop using Bash, PowerShell, and Python
- Maintain and enhance knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI cloud services
- Monitor and tune cloud systems for optimal performance
- Work with internal teams and external customer groups to develop strategy and design solutions
- Advise implementation teams during infrastructure buildouts
- Handle escalations and provide assessments, recommendations, and issue resolutions
- Write and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, and knowledge articles
- Support cloud engineering, migration, and operations for a large multi-tenant cloud platform and enterprise
Requirements:
- Technical training, certification(s), or degree
- 5–8+ years of experience with cloud engineering and operations
- Experience with cloud computing: AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI
- Technical skills in Linux and Windows Server
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences at various organizational levels
- Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a position of Public Trust
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
