- Advise the VP of Software Architecture and engineering leadership
- Set engineering standards, patterns, golden paths, and reference implementations for infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and AI tooling
- Mentor engineers across teams as a hands-on technical authority without direct management responsibility
- Drive adoption of infrastructure as code and AI tooling and prevent uncontrolled use of unvetted AI tools
- Recommend build/buy decisions and evaluate platform-tooling vendors
- Manage AWS infrastructure as code in Terraform, including reusable modules, remote state, drift detection, and automated plan/apply
- Enforce policy-as-code security and cost guardrails

- Maintain multi-tenant database and hosting architecture, including replication and per-tenant isolation
- Build and operate CI/CD pipelines with automated build, testing, and deployment
- Own release management, rollback strategies, deployment gates, and customer acceptance
- Run Docker and Kubernetes/EKS workloads and automate configuration with Ansible and Packer
- Lead SLI/SLO/SLA programs, manage error budgets, and operate OpenTelemetry observability
- Analyze production events, lead blameless post-incident reviews, participate in on-call rotations, and resolve incidents
- Provision and operate AI/ML platforms using Anthropic Claude through AWS Bedrock or the Anthropic API
- Build AI workload guardrails, observability, cost controls, usage auditing, and compliant PHI boundaries
- Operate agentic and MCP tooling with least-privilege access and human-in-the-loop escalation
- Establish LLMOps practices including prompt versioning, evaluation frameworks, token-cost attribution, and audit logging
- Route inference across multiple model providers and manage protocols such as MCP
- Operate and evidence SOC 2 Type 2 and HIPAA controls and support external audits
- Manage secrets, supply-chain security, vulnerability remediation, SBOMs, cloud costs, tagging, budgets, and right-sizing
- Coordinate with product, development, support, operations, and QA across a distributed, multi-time-zone team
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or an equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
- 10+ years in SRE/DevOps/platform engineering, including senior individual-contributor or architect-level experience
- Experience delivering CI/CD, REST API deployment, containerization, IaaS/PaaS, data pipelines, and application observability
- Proven technical authority across teams and ability to influence through expertise and example rather than direct management
- Experience driving adoption of infrastructure as code, a CI/CD overhaul, or an AI/ML platform across multiple teams
- Hands-on Terraform experience, including reusable modules, remote state, and CI/CD change management
- Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines for large-scale AWS applications using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab, or AWS-native tools
- Experience running Docker and Kubernetes containerized workloads
- Experience with cloud-native monitoring, troubleshooting, and OpenTelemetry
