Job Description
Principal Software Engineer architecting resilient virtual machine provisioning and microservices. Building cloud and edge infrastructure with Python, Golang, SQL, gRPC, and REST APIs at Akamai.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and refine core virtual machine provisioning infrastructure to maximize system throughput and resilience
- Collaborate closely in an agile environment
- Design robust microservices leveraging Python, Golang, and SQL
- Design complex systems focused on scalability, performance, and reliability
- Engage with key partners to gather input and drive continuous resolution
- Mentor engineering teams and cultivate technical expertise across organizations
- Contribute to technical strategy through deep expertise, industry best practices, and forward-thinking approaches
Requirements:
- Extensive, relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Experience with Python and Golang
- Experience with complex SQL queries
- Experience working with Linux-based operating systems
- Understanding of algorithms and root cause analysis
- Experience evaluating data using statistics or data science techniques
- Ability to discuss abstract software architectures from ideas through implementation
- Ability to creatively apply domain experience to solve technical challenges
- Knowledge of software architecture, distributed systems, and system designs
- Fluency in written and verbal English
