Job Description

Procurement Buyer optimizing strategic sourcing, negotiations, and supplier performance for a growing organization. Driving cost savings and supply-chain efficiency in a fully remote USA role.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives and market dynamics
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, delivery reliability, and partnership potential
  • Negotiate supplier contracts, terms, conditions, and payment terms
  • Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance against agreed metrics
  • Analyze market trends, economic indicators, industry benchmarks, and spend data to identify cost savings
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand procurement requirements and provide guidance
  • Maintain procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance data
  • Manage inventory levels where applicable to optimize stock and minimize holding costs
  • Resolve supplier issues and disputes to minimize operational disruption
  • Improve procurement processes, systems, and tools
  • Develop category strategies aligned with organizational objectives
  • Manage end-to-end procurement for assigned categories from requisition to payment
  • Develop and maintain supplier performance management programs
  • Support procurement policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a closely related field is essential
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of proven, progressive experience as a Procurement Buyer, Category Manager, or in a similar strategic sourcing and procurement role
  • Expertise in advanced negotiation techniques and contract management
  • Understanding of procurement principles, strategic sourcing methodologies, and industry best practices
  • Proficiency with procurement software, e-sourcing platforms, and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Coupa
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, complex problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making abilities
  • Communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage workload in a remote setting
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Familiarity with sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management frameworks, and supplier evaluation methodologies
  • Experience in managing indirect spend categories is highly desirable
  • CPSM or CIPS certifications are a plus
  • Understanding of supply chain risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Based in the USA
