Job Description

Product Engineer owning ambiguous product problems end to end for CentralApp’s AI-assisted website platform. Building frontend solutions, shaping APIs, and collaborating on Haskell and Node.js backend systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Turn ambiguous product problems into clear user flows, product behavior, edge cases, and success criteria.
  • Build and maintain scalable, modular, high-performance frontend code.
  • Independently review backend and frontend implementations for UX, code quality, performance, accessibility, maintainability, and product correctness.
  • Define API contracts and backend expectations.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers on architecture, data models, permissions, error handling, observability, and performance.
  • Use AI tools for prototyping, implementation, refactoring, testing, debugging, and technical exploration.
  • Critically review AI-generated output and remain accountable for correctness, maintainability, and product quality.
  • Balance speed, simplicity, performance, maintainability, and user experience.
  • Consider end users, business impact, SEO, accessibility, and product quality.

Requirements:

  • Ability to own outcomes end to end: clarify the problem, define product behavior, implement the frontend, coordinate backend work, and ship.
  • Strong frontend skills sufficient to review React code independently.
  • Ability to reason about APIs, data models, permissions, backend constraints, and edge cases.
  • Experience using AI to accelerate development while tracing logic, adapting output to the codebase, and verifying results.
  • Ability to operate as a one-person product strike team when needed.
  • Willingness to make product and technical decisions without finalized designs, predefined APIs, or detailed tickets.
  • Willingness to own backend and UX constraints, edge cases, and AI-assisted output quality.
  • Ability to review Haskell code independently.
  • Ability to maintain high standards for performance, accessibility, maintainability, and product correctness.
  • Familiarity with Haskell, Node.js, React, server-side rendering, and AWS.

Benefits:

  • Remote-first role, with flexibility in how and where you work.
  • Preferred timezone: anywhere between London and Singapore
  • High ownership: you will have real influence over product direction, technical decisions, and the evolution of the stack.
  • Flexible working setup, focused on output, autonomy, and impact rather than rigid process.
  • Opportunity to work across product, design, frontend, backend architecture, and AI-assisted engineering workflows.
  • Small, experienced team where strong contributors can move fast and have visible impact.
