Job Description
Software Engineering Intern supporting VSP Vision’s eye-care network through coding, testing, debugging, and technical documentation. Remote 10-week program for enrolled junior-level technical students.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with software engineers, test engineers, business partners, and leaders on coding and debugging
- Deliver technical documentation, automated test scripts, and software components
- Translate user stories and requirements
- Develop automated test scripts
- Implement test scripts and software components within projects
- Support technical design, planning, testing, and implementation within the Agile software development process
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled and in good standing at an accredited college or university
- At least junior-level (3rd year) standing
- Degree target in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- Ability to work remotely within the United States
- Private or semi-private workspace
- Availability to participate for the full 10-week program, Monday through Friday
- Access to high-speed internet
- Generative AI tools and prompt development
- Enterprise integration concepts and service-oriented architecture
- APIs, messaging, event streaming, or data integration
- Business and technical analysis
- Process mapping and technical documentation
