Job Description
Senior software engineer building scalable distributed systems and high-throughput pipelines. Shaping Cyberhaven’s data-security platform through backend architecture and production operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and evolve scalable distributed backend systems and high-throughput data processing pipelines
- Develop reliable, high-performance services focused on concurrency, efficiency, and fault tolerance
- Design and improve event-driven architectures, asynchronous workflows, and distributed coordination mechanisms
- Solve challenges involving consistency, retries, idempotency, deduplication, backpressure, and failure recovery
- Make architectural decisions involving distributed storage, messaging systems, and data processing strategies
- Identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks, improving throughput, latency, resource utilization, and infrastructure cost efficiency
- Drive architectural improvements and modernization of existing systems while maintaining production stability
- Own critical services end-to-end, from technical design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and production operations
- Lead technical design discussions, evaluate architectural trade-offs, and establish engineering best practices
- Collaborate across engineering teams to define technical direction, develop platform capabilities, and solve complex cross-service challenges
Requirements:
- Experienced software engineer with strong experience designing, building, and operating complex production backend systems
- Deep understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, concurrency, asynchronous processing, consistency, and fault tolerance
- Strong proficiency in Go, or comparable backend programming experience with the ability to become productive in Go
- Experience designing and operating systems using messaging technologies such as Kafka, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, or AWS SQS
