Job Description

Product Manager shaping Timely’s AI-powered school scheduling optimizer. Defining algorithmic product strategy, experiments, metrics, and scheduler experiences for K12 education.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers to understand opportunities to generate better K12 school schedules
  • Dive into optimizer technology and the scheduling domain to facilitate critical decisions with Engineering
  • Partner with Engineering to improve optimizer core algorithms, model-builders, and orchestration pipeline
  • Design and execute experiments testing optimizer changes
  • Define performance and quality metrics such as feasibility rate, schedule quality scores, solve time, and constraint violations
  • Craft optimizer product requirements and refine new product features
  • Work with Engineering and AI agents to break requirements into well-defined stories
  • Leverage AI to connect requirements, story definition, and development workflows
  • Develop and implement a vision for generative AI in algorithmic schedule optimization
  • Own the end-to-end experience for school schedulers interacting with the optimizer
  • Communicate results, tradeoffs, and infeasible or sub-optimal solutions
  • Drive goal- and metric-setting processes with Engineering
  • Set and adjust milestones, maintain standards, and focus the team on impact
  • Communicate product and technology decisions to internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • 4+ years in B2B SaaS product organizations
  • At least 3 years as a Product Manager
  • Experience working on products with an algorithmic, decision-support, or operations research core
  • Strong data analysis and metric design skills
  • Ability to design experiments and interpret their results
  • Strong user-centric story writing
  • Mastery of agile toolsets such as Jira, Notion, and Miro
  • Demonstrated experience using AI-enabled SDLC practices
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented problem solver
  • Visual communication skills using mockups, sketches, diagrams, or journey maps
  • Nice-to-have: background in EdTech and/or education sector
  • Nice-to-have: experience with optimization, decision-support systems, constraint satisfaction, or algorithmic products
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with A/B testing or experimentation frameworks
  • Nice-to-have: background in operations research or a technical discipline
  • Must address whether United States work authorization sponsorship will be required
