Job Description
Project Designer executing design engineering tasks for electronic security systems. Providing design support across various projects within Convergint's services.
Responsibilities:
- Provides design or drawing assistance for projects during the development and as-built stages of the engineered drawings.
- Works on projects with varying levels of complexity including the moderately complex design projects.
- Obtains electronic plans from engineers/architects/owners.
- Obtains design drawings from sprinkler and mechanical contractors.
- Creates engineered drawings (AutoCAD, etc.).
- Prepares record drawings and O&M manuals according to project requirements.
- Works from rough sketches, schematics, and verbal instructions.
- Utilizes and maintain Convergint project design, documentation and submittal standards.
- Ensures adherence to industry standards and codes as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum two-year technical degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering desirable
- Minimum of three years of previous design, engineering, field service or project management experience in the electronic security industry
- Minimum three years’ experience with AutoCAD required.
- Local, federal and industry-specific licenses as required - Security.
