Job Description

Piping Designer IV responsible for all aspects of engineering project coordination with RFMS department. Ensuring compliance with design standards and assisting engineers to enhance processes and documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing all aspects for complete coordination with client RFMS department for engineering projects
  • Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria
  • On-site assistance for meetings and training
  • Maintaining file organization for efficient checking
  • Coordinating directly with RFMS groups to gather required information
  • Consulting with design leaders from other disciplines
  • Reviewing and checking vendor drawings
  • Producing documentation with efficient use of materials
  • Assisting RFMS group(s) to improve processes
  • Providing periodic presentations to departments
  • Checking calculations made by other engineers
  • Advising senior engineering concerning design or scope changes
  • Assisting in developing and assembling scopes, drawings and specifications
  • Developing construction specifications
  • Reviewing fabrication drawings for conformance
  • Performing fieldwork necessary to gather data and provide construction support
  • Providing technical guidance to less experienced personnel
  • Applying advanced engineering techniques to designs
  • Developing small work sharing packages

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology is required
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university is preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical integrity and reliability maintenance coordination
  • Knowledge of rotating and fixed equipment design
  • Knowledge of regulation requirements to support plant startup and operation
  • Understanding of reliability and maintenance information requirements
  • Ability to convey project needs to manufacturers
  • Knowledge of design standards and codes
  • Knowledge, application and specification of piping materials
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
