Job Description

Project Manager leading traveling mechanical, pipe, HVAC, and plumbing construction projects for specialty contractor Mullins Mechanical. Managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, safety, quality, billing, and field personnel across industrial and heavy commercial sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage all project documentation
  • Lead project hand-off meetings before construction
  • Prepare construction budgets from plans and specifications
  • Obtain permits and finalize schedules of values for owner billing
  • Build and manage project schedules with field supervisors
  • Establish and manage project schedules and budgets and report monthly job costs
  • Develop, negotiate, and manage subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Contractually manage subcontractors
  • Track materials, submittals, product samples, productivity, welds, inspections, and punch lists
  • Create and distribute RFIs
  • Prepare monthly billing and invoices
  • Resolve cost discrepancies and manage project scope changes
  • Provide notices of delay documenting schedule impacts
  • Collaborate with Assistant Project Managers and Superintendents on resources
  • Hire field personnel and coordinate onboarding with HR
  • Ensure client satisfaction while balancing scope, time, and cost
  • Review timesheets and conduct employee reviews
  • Manage project safety, quality, and productivity
  • Prepare and submit safety and quality incident reports
  • Approve invoices in accounting software
  • Ensure jobsites remain clean and orderly
  • Update opportunity project tracking and submit it to the CRM Manager

Requirements:

  • Previous work experience in project management or BS/BA degree in Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • OSHA 30, First Aid and CPR Training
  • Extensive work experience managing construction project budgets
  • Excellent knowledge of construction materials and equipment
  • Previous leadership experience with proven leadership skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of construction safety and quality standards
  • Understanding of construction management processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively and plan ahead
  • Familiarity with construction and project management software
  • Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs
  • High familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
  • Conflict resolution and conflict management experience
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to multitask and understand core manager duties
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • PMP, CCM, or equivalent certification considered an asset
  • Design/Build experience considered an asset
