Job Description
Remote patient billing customer service representative answering patient and insurance inquiries for Labcorp, a global diagnostics and drug development company. Initiating payment plans and resolving billing issues.
Responsibilities:
- Answer 80+ inbound calls per day from patients, doctor's offices, or private insurance carriers
- Initiate payment plans for patients with outstanding balances
- Routinely utilize multiple resources to resolve patient inquiries while on the phone
- Maintain performance goals
- Become proficient with processes after completing a structured training program
- Work with external customers and internal personnel to respond to customer inquiries
- Provide product training
- Handle a wide variety of questions while ensuring a world-class customer experience
- Work with a customer-centric team in an innovative company
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 1 year or more customer service experience
- Preferred: 1 year or more high volume call center experience
- Preferred: 1 year or more medical billing, insurance claims, and explanation of benefits experience
- Preferred: 1 year or more patient billing experience
- Ability to work and learn in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and focus
- Ability to perform successfully in a team environment
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proficiency navigating multiple computer screens and applications
- Alpha-numeric data entry proficiency
- Excellent communication skills
- Energetic, passionate customer service approach
- Ability to seek solutions to challenging patient billing issues
- Ability to work Monday–Friday, 10:00am–7:00pm EST
- Ability to complete training Monday–Friday, 9:00am–6:00pm EST
