Job Description

Registered Nurse Education Coordinator developing FirstChoice nursing education programs for Trinity Health. Designing curricula, assessing competencies, and coordinating staff development across Iowa.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, design and implement the FirstChoice Iowa Regional program educational plan
  • Assist in developing FirstChoice educational programs in collaboration with site-specific resources
  • Facilitate staff competency in relationship-based care using adult learning methodology
  • Assess, plan, develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate skill acquisition and the learning process of system-wide employees
  • Coordinate orientation, preceptor development and programming, continuing education, staff development, mandatory education, and new product/new process education
  • Create an environment that facilitates student learning and desired cognitive, affective, and psychomotor outcomes
  • Facilitate learner development and socialization
  • Use assessment and evaluation strategies to assess and evaluate student learning
  • Participate in course/program design and evaluation of outcomes
  • Function as a change agent and leader
  • Pursue continuous quality improvement in the Nurse Educator role
  • Engage in scholarship and function within the educational environment
  • Maintain rapport and cooperative relationships; approach conflict constructively; identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in resolution
  • Maintain confidentiality of information pertaining to patients, physicians, employees, and visitors
  • Follow HIPAA policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Five (5) years' experience in a Nursing department with increasing responsibility and interest in education, practice and quality
  • Minimum of one (1) year in a formal Nursing Educator role
  • Current Registered Nursing License
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practice and education
  • Ability to continuously learn and seek professional development and growth through journals, professional local, regional and national affiliations, continuing education programs, seminars, and workshops
  • Experience designing and developing various types of training and curriculum
  • Experience training trainers to deliver content
