Job Description
Part-time remote research assistant supporting WashU’s infectious-disease and global public-health research. Conducting assays, analyzing data, coordinating studies, and supporting project operations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research experiments and assays
- Evaluate research results, report findings, and discuss project outcomes with staff
- Perform data entry and maintain research data files
- Comply with established safety procedures and maintain required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions
- Coordinate research projects with other institutions and investigators
- Participate in developing hypotheses and testing methods
- Assist with general supply/equipment orders, lab maintenance, and cleaning
- Perform literature research on specified topics
- Support implementation science research, public health clinical trials, grant management, logistics, and project coordination
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education
- 2 years of laboratory operations experience
- Ability to perform duties consistent with WashU’s core mission and guiding principles
- Ability to work in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards
- Physical ability to wear protective equipment
- Ability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily
- Successful completion of required pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and applicable checks, drug screen, employment and education or licensure/certification verification, physical examination, vaccinations and/or governmental registry checks
- No specific certification/professional license is required
- Driver’s license is not required
