Job Description

Sales training manager developing onboarding and advanced programs for Veracyte, a cancer diagnostics company. Leading classroom, virtual, and field training for commercial sales teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute and help develop the annual sales training plan and strategy
  • Onboard new sales representatives through comprehensive training programs
  • Deliver annual advanced training for experienced sales representatives
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, and other Veracyte personnel on training workshops
  • Plan, create, and execute classroom, virtual, and quarterly online training
  • Develop and update written and video training content
  • Lead classroom sales training and coordinate onboarding training calls and ride-alongs
  • Ensure training programs address new customers, products, product extensions, and markets
  • Conduct gap analyses and update curriculum based on commercial-team insights
  • Assess training results and create proficiency and competency assessments
  • Evaluate sales representative performance and provide feedback to Regional Sales Directors and stakeholders
  • Lead training for new Business Unit employees outside the sales team
  • Participate in annual brand and tactical planning
  • Obtain MLR approval for training materials and ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are followed

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of successful experience in commercial sales training or equivalent medical/biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience
  • 4-year degree in business, life sciences, healthcare, education, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with commercial medical sales into physician offices in the IVD or LDT space
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning technologies
  • Ability to conduct both classroom and remote training
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Proficiency with Salesforce
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and timelines
  • Ability to travel 15–25% of the time, depending on in-person training needs
  • Strong coaching, communication, adaptability, time management, and strategic agility
  • Experience as a Regional or National Sales Trainer or in sales training is preferred
  • Experience supporting breast cancer oncology products, diagnostics, or related therapeutic areas is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and facilitating sales training programs for field-based commercial teams is preferred
  • 2+ years of Veracyte experience is preferred
