Job Description
Virtual School Social Worker delivering Tier 2 and Tier 3 counseling for Georgia students with learning differences. Supporting IEP teams, families, and school staff through Parallel’s remote care platform.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect social work services to elementary, middle, and high school students and their families
- Deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 counseling services for mild/moderate and at-risk populations
- Collaborate with school and IEP teams to develop tailored treatment plans and IEPs with measurable social work goals
- Provide staff insights into cultural, familial, and societal factors influencing student behavior, academic performance, and well-being
- Design positive behavioral strategies and lead mental health and behavioral interventions
- Track progress through Panorama and perform psycho-educational evaluations as caseload needs expand
- Provide parental support and guidance for successful school adjustment
- Train educational staff on behavior management techniques and provide direct support as required
Requirements:
- Active Clinical Social Worker license (LCSW)
- Valid Georgia state certification or license for K-12 School Social Work (GA SSW)
- Minimum of one year of full-time, on-site school social work experience, excluding internships
- Demonstrated proficiency in all National SSW Practice Model domains
- Expertise in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) frameworks, counseling, and psycho-educational evaluations
- Strong communication skills for engaging diverse student populations, families, and school staff
- Preferred experience conducting telehealth services via virtual meeting platforms
- Experience with Panorama software for data collection, progress monitoring, and survey tracking
- Access to a private, secure workspace with a reliable computer, webcam, and high-speed internet connection
- Full-time availability for 1.0 FTE (37.5 hours per week) aligned with standard Georgia school hours (EST)
- Completion of Parallel onboarding prior to assignment start date
- Fluency in additional languages is a significant asset
