Job Description

Senior Analytics Engineer building DBT, Airflow, BigQuery, and Looker solutions. Supporting Rox Partner’s growing data consultancy through analytics engineering and governance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize data transformation pipelines using DBT
  • Build and manage complex data workflows using Apache Airflow
  • Design and implement dimensional and relational models to support strategic analytics and KPIs
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and traceability through testing, monitoring, and engineering best practices
  • Model, organize, and make datasets available for analytical consumption
  • Develop and optimize high-performance SQL queries across large volumes of data
  • Work with BigQuery to drive operational efficiency, cost optimization, and performance
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and semantic layers using the Looker platform
  • Promote best practices in data documentation, governance, and cataloging
  • Support business teams in defining metrics, KPIs, and analytical requirements
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to the evolution of the organization’s data platform
  • Automate processes and routines using Python whenever necessary
  • Serve as a technical reference for the team, sharing knowledge and best practices

Requirements:

  • Strong experience as an Analytics Engineer, BI Engineer, Data Engineer, or in a related role
  • Advanced SQL proficiency, including dimensional and relational modeling, query optimization, and development of analytical solutions
  • Advanced experience with DBT for building, testing, documenting, and maintaining data transformation pipelines
  • Experience building, maintaining, and orchestrating pipelines using Apache Airflow
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with strong experience in BigQuery, including performance tuning, cost optimization, and management of analytical environments
  • Experience with data services in the GCP ecosystem, such as Google Cloud Storage
  • Experience developing dashboards, semantic models, and analytical solutions using the Looker platform
  • Knowledge of Python for process automation, building custom pipelines, and exploratory analysis
  • Experience with data documentation, governance, cataloging, and quality practices
  • Plus: knowledge of business, product, or marketing metrics such as AARRR, CAC, LTV, retention, and engagement
  • Plus: experience in Modern Data Stack environments
  • Plus: experience with large-scale Analytics Engineering projects
  • Plus: knowledge of best practices for data pipeline observability and monitoring
