Job Description
Senior Data Engineer building event-driven AWS and Snowflake pipelines for GDIT’s healthcare claims fraud analytics. Operationalizing signals into alerts and partner dashboards.
Responsibilities:
- Build and operate an event-driven pipeline that processes new Partner data from the HFPP healthcare claims warehouse
- Route data into deployed fraud, waste, and abuse signals
- Productionize newly approved fraud signals using reliable pipeline logic at claims-record scale
- Build and maintain alert delivery, including partner email notifications and per-partner HTML dashboards in the HFPP Portal analytics extension
- Monitor pipeline latency, failed jobs, and missing data
- Resolve pipeline issues before they affect Partner alert cycles
- Collaborate with the Data Architect, technical teams, investigative teams, and Data Scientists
- Coordinate signal handoff from Data Science without owning the underlying methodology
- Report through the program's analytic leadership
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 4+ years building and operating production data pipelines
- At least one event-driven or streaming system running at real scale
- Hands-on experience with AWS and Snowflake
- Strong Python and SQL for pipeline and integration code
- Experience building alerting or notification systems tied to a dashboard or portal
- Experience operationalizing validated models, rule sets, or signals in production without changing their behavior
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment
- Preferred: familiarity with healthcare claims data or healthcare coding systems, including ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, or DRG
- Preferred: pipeline monitoring/observability tooling and on-call-style incident response experience
- Preferred: fraud, anomaly-detection, or alerting pipeline experience
- Preferred: AWS certification, such as Solutions Architect Associate, or equivalent demonstrated depth
- Less than 10% travel required
