Job Description
Staff Django Backend Engineer maintaining and extending Django applications at Nortal, a digital transformation consultancy. Fixing bugs, developing features, reviewing code, and supporting AI-assisted development.
Responsibilities:
- Take over and maintain an existing Django application, building on knowledge shared during transition
- Investigate and fix bugs and contribute to ongoing application maintenance
- Design and develop new features within the existing application
- Review code with the team and deliver clear, maintainable, appropriate changes
- Use AI tools to support onboarding, code review, and development while keeping generated code focused and reviewable
- Participate in Nortal’s Technical Interviewer Program by conducting technical interviews for Nortal accounts
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
- Senior-level experience or above, with a high degree of autonomy
- Strong, hands-on Django experience is required
- Availability to work full time, eight hours per day, during European working hours
- Thoughtful approach to AI-assisted development
- Advanced English is required; effective communication in English is essential for working with US clients
