Job Description
Senior Java Developer architecting Java/Spring backend systems, APIs, and cloud integrations. CodeRoad partners with companies to modernize and scale business technology.
Responsibilities:
- Lead development, performance tuning, and architectural evolution of enterprise-grade Java backend services
- Design, deploy, and maintain high-throughput RESTful APIs and integration layers across microservices and 3-tier architectures
- Architect relational database schemas, optimize SQL queries, manage stored procedures, and eliminate data bottlenecks
- Refactor legacy systems, reverse-engineer undocumented business logic, and implement modern design patterns
- Integrate automated testing and deployment patterns into AWS or Azure cloud-native environments using Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews
- Author comprehensive technical documentation
- Collaborate directly with U.S.-based client stakeholders
- Work within collaborative Velocity Studios teams on complex technology initiatives
Requirements:
- 5+ years of dedicated professional backend engineering experience
- Proven track record of architecting distributed systems in nearshore software environments
- Advanced proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Hibernate ORM frameworks
- Experience managing SQL databases, writing complex stored procedures, tuning query performance, and building microservices or 3-tier architectures
- Strong working knowledge of Git, automated CI/CD pipelines, and AWS or Azure cloud deployment patterns
- Exceptional troubleshooting capabilities and ability to navigate ambiguous codebases independently
- Advanced English fluency, both written and spoken, mandatory for real-time collaboration with U.S.-based teams and client leadership
