Job Description
Senior Civil Engineer designing transportation interchanges and highways for AECOM. Engaging with local teams and providing mentorship for entry-level engineers in a remote setting.
Responsibilities:
- Engages with local team for design of interchanges, highways, and urban corridors.
- Responsible for 3D Modeling.
- Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader project assignment of an experienced engineer.
- Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
- Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple designs and tests.
- Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
- Follows and directs internal quality process and identifies discrepancies in results.
- Provides guidance and mentorship for entry level engineers.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
- Independently performs the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering design projects.
- Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- BS in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 10+ years of related experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Kentucky or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire if current PE is out of state
- Computer skills using Microsoft office, AutoCAD Civil3D and MicroStation preferred
- Strong familiarity with InRoads / Open Roads a plus
- Prior experience working with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is a plus
