Job Description
Senior principal cloud engineer designing BMC2 hybrid infrastructure for SAIC’s defense technology programs. Developing automation, secure network flows, cross-domain solutions, and resilient cloud operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing and deploying the BMC2 cloud for the ABMS Digital Infrastructure Network Designer & Deployer program
- Develop automation pipelines
- Design hybrid cloud environments
- Enable secure data and network flows
- Support cross-domain solutions
- Act as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams
- Align cloud computing objectives with project goals
- Mentor engineering team members
- Provide oversight of cloud testing, monitoring, and incident response processes
- Ensure a resilient and secure network deployment
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Network Engineering, Cloud Engineering or related field + 8 years experience, or Bachelor's Degree in Network Engineering, Cloud Engineering or related field + 10 years experience
- Expertise in cloud orchestration tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Kubernetes)
- Expertise in networking protocols
- Expertise in zero-trust architectures
- Strong communication skills and ability to foster collaboration across technical teams
- U.S. citizenship
- Current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility
- Network and/or Security Operations Center experience and familiarity with the DoW's acquisition and test enterprise (desired)
- Experience with commercial class cloud and optical networks (desired)
- CompTIA Cloud+, AWS/Microsoft/Google Cloud/IBM/Cisco-specific cloud certifications (desired)
- Understanding of DOD Acquisition process (desired)
- SAFe Agilist (desired)
- Able to attain CSWF and IAT Level II Certifications (Security+) (desired)
- Demonstrated technical writing and briefing
- Understanding of hybrid cloud/local architectures
- Experience with modern source control (Git, BitBucket, etc.)
- Experience with Multi-Layer Security, Cross-Domain Solutions, and NSA "Raise the Bar"
- Experience with Continuous-ATOs, Risk Management Framework, and Program Protection Plans
- Experience with Kubernetes, Containers, and Docker
- Experience with Zero Trust Models
