Job Description

Cloud Engineer SME architecting secure Azure data, analytics, and pipeline infrastructure. Supporting U.S. federal defense agencies and Army logistics within DoD IL5/IL6 environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, deploy, and maintain advanced enterprise data, analytics, and pipeline infrastructures within secured federal and defense environments
  • Design, configure, and maintain production-grade cloud landing zones, enterprise network topographies, and zero-trust identity architectures
  • Build, test, and maintain enterprise ETL/ELT pipelines for synchronization, ingestion, and multi-source transformation
  • Automate infrastructure lifecycles using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
  • Implement least-privilege governance and manage encryption keys, application connections, API tokens, and cryptographic profiles with Azure Key Vault
  • Design, route, and secure REST APIs and backend microservices through Azure API Management
  • Engineer audit-readiness pipelines, metric dashboards, system alerting, and security logging
  • Support cloud-native ingestion, enterprise data virtualization, cross-domain connections, and automated landing zones for Army data assets

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of documented, continuous cloud engineering experience, beginning no later than August 2014
  • Active U.S. DoD Secret clearance required at time of application
  • Extensive hands-on production engineering in Azure Government, cArmy, or highly restricted federal enclaves under DoD IL5/IL6 frameworks
  • Expert-level Azure architecture design, including Hub-Spoke models, ExpressRoute, and Secure Cloud Computing Architecture
  • Production experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and structured Data Lake environments
  • Advanced deployment pipeline experience using Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise, or comparable CI/CD tools
  • Direct experience operating in Azure Government, cArmy, or federal GCC High environments
  • Mastery of DoD/Army Architecture Standards and DoD Impact Level 5 and 6 controls
  • Ability to work remotely during normal Government working hours and participate in daily status, requirements, development, and technical-review sessions
  • Ability to travel to Fort Lee, Virginia, at least three times annually and report onsite more frequently if directed
  • Familiarity with GCSS-Army, NLAC, or Army G4 logistics modules is preferred
  • Prior exposure to Strategic Enterprise Analytics or comparable enterprise military data-lake structures is preferred
  • Functional understanding of defense analytics pipelines, military logistics platforms, or supply-chain telemetry datasets is preferred
