Job Description

Principal Cloud Engineer designing and operating secure multi-tenant cloud platforms for GDIT’s U.S. government missions. Automating, migrating, and optimizing AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, architect, deploy, and maintain cloud solutions
  • Maintain system integrity and security
  • Maintain technical documentation
  • Support and develop automation
  • Develop using Bash, PowerShell, and Python
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI services
  • Monitor and tune cloud systems for optimum performance
  • Work across teams and with external customer groups to develop strategy and design solutions
  • Advise implementation teams during infrastructure buildouts
  • Handle escalations and provide assessments, recommendations, and issue resolutions
  • Write and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, and knowledge articles

Requirements:

  • Technical training, certification(s), or degree
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud engineering and operations
  • Experience with cloud computing in AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI
  • Technical skills in Linux and Windows Server
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences at various organizational levels
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret or higher security clearance
  • US citizenship required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment across engineering, migration, and operations
