Job Description
Principal Cloud Engineer designing and operating secure multi-tenant cloud platforms for GDIT’s U.S. government missions. Automating, migrating, and optimizing AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design, architect, deploy, and maintain cloud solutions
- Maintain system integrity and security
- Maintain technical documentation
- Support and develop automation
- Develop using Bash, PowerShell, and Python
- Maintain and enhance knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI services
- Monitor and tune cloud systems for optimum performance
- Work across teams and with external customer groups to develop strategy and design solutions
- Advise implementation teams during infrastructure buildouts
- Handle escalations and provide assessments, recommendations, and issue resolutions
- Write and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, and knowledge articles
Requirements:
- Technical training, certification(s), or degree
- 5+ years of experience with cloud engineering and operations
- Experience with cloud computing in AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI
- Technical skills in Linux and Windows Server
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences at various organizational levels
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret or higher security clearance
- US citizenship required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment across engineering, migration, and operations
