Job Description

Senior Conflicts Analyst reviewing new engagements, legal conflicts, and reputational risks for global consulting firm FTI Consulting. Conducting research and advising internal teams on client acceptance.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as a collaborative team member within the Conflicts group under the direction of the Manager of Conflicts
  • Review new business opportunities on an expedited basis to determine whether engagements can be accepted
  • Handle clearances for an assigned portfolio and outside the assigned queue when needed to manage volume and urgent requests
  • Conduct timely and accurate reviews of potential conflicts and related legal, relationship, and reputational risks
  • Verify completeness and accuracy of new engagement descriptions
  • Identify and escalate new issues and concerns to Conflicts leadership and Company professionals
  • Apply company conflict policies and procedures when evaluating, tracking, and maintaining records of potential issues
  • Communicate conflict analysis summaries to internal teams and provide information for client consideration
  • Facilitate resolution of legal and business issues
  • Research using internal and external databases and other resources
  • Identify relevant corporate affiliations
  • Maintain confidentiality and non-disclosure of conflicts review information
  • Develop understanding of the company’s expert and business consulting services and client engagements

Requirements:

  • Extensive familiarity with the legal field and legal terminology
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as a team player, learn quickly, and adapt to new policies and procedures
  • Ability to conduct analysis independently
  • Experience working with ingenuity and creativity when obstacles are encountered
  • Attention to detail with strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Ability to provide occasional weekend support on a rotating on-call basis
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn new systems and software quickly
  • Bachelor’s degree in related business field
  • 3+ years of experience as an analyst in a conflicts or new business intake function within a law, auditing, financial, or consulting firm
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Position does not provide visa sponsorship
  • Prior experience using IntApp, Salesforce and Elite (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of public company SEC filings, corporate family tree information, and publicly available relationship information (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of engagement letters, contractual agreements, waiver language, external support guidelines, and engagement terms and conditions (preferred)
  • Broad knowledge of conflicts-of-interest principles, practices and procedures and the legal field (preferred)
