Job Description

Senior Content Marketing Strategist at Automattic responsible for content strategy and visibility for WordPress VIP. Collaborating on original research and managing cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Own how content earns brand authority, accelerates pipeline, and defines POV on the future of the web.
  • Decide what content to make and when to ship.
  • Ship original research that lands category claims.
  • Own the visibility strategy on search and AI-driven discovery.
  • Manage the content strategy translating business priorities into a comprehensive content plan.
  • Ship research reports every quarter, each anchored in proprietary data with a defensible take.
  • Set strategy for how to win on traditional search and AI-driven discovery.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years in B2B SaaS content marketing, ideally enterprise SaaS or technology
  • Track record of driving original research reports—multiple shipped, with measurable impact on brand authority and pipeline
  • First-class writing and editing ability; you can distill complex subjects clearly for a sophisticated enterprise audience
  • Hands-on AI fluency—you use AI agents and LLM tools daily and can show specific examples of how you’ve built or implemented them
  • Strong measurement conviction—you can name the right metrics for content at this stage and report on them holistically
  • Experience marketing to CMOs, CTOs, or CIOs
  • Familiarity with GA4, Looker Studio, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Salesforce, HubSpot, and Parse.ly for pipeline and attribution reporting
  • Experience leading content strategy in a contractor-heavy or hybrid in-house/contractor model
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
