Job Description
Senior DevOps Engineer designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for NBCUniversal's distribution engineering. Responsible for automation and collaboration across teams in broadcast technology.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery.
- Automate deployment processes and maintain cloud-based production systems for optimal performance.
- Embed security, quality checks, and automated testing into the delivery pipeline.
- Support release cycles, ensuring smooth deployments across development, staging, and production environments.
- Research and adopt emerging technologies and vendor solutions to enhance infrastructure and workflows.
- Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using tools like Terraform for resource provisioning.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to meet technical and business requirements.
- Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Establish monitoring, logging, and metrics frameworks for pipeline and system health.
- Recommend best practices and process improvements to optimize DevOps operations.
- Provide Tier 2 support for operational and on-air engineering teams.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of broadcast and media distribution technologies
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related discipline
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, infrastructure automation, and cloud operations
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform)
- Expertise in AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud environments
- Advanced skills in CI/CD orchestration tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
- Solid experience with containerization and Kubernetes orchestration
- Strong Linux administration and networking knowledge in cloud environments
- Skilled in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, YAML, Ruby, or JavaScript
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies for project execution
- A mindset focused on automation and continuous improvement.
